  3. Definitely the only adult in the room and perhaps the only one to rise above partisan interests – of both parties – to insure a healthy democracy for the future of our country (and the world).

  4. great man, I don,t know why racsiam and tea party people, just because he’s black, anything he says is wrong. if he was white, he’d be the ideal president.

  7. I love President Obama and I wish him and his family well. I support you all the way. God blessed America when you became president.

  8. Dear President Obama:

You are my president and I am very proud of you and what you are trying to accomplish for the American people. I pray for you, your family, Vice President Joe Biden and his family, and your entire administration. Just stay strong in God and you will achieve the goals for this country and overcome any obstacle or challenge. God bless you all.

  9. At last, images and comments about President Obama, not Mr. Obama or Barack Obama but PRESIDENT OBAMA that I embrace with my whole heart and being. I, too, pray for his success every night (I am not a church-goer) and wish him a win in 2012. Perhaps by then his naysayers will have had an opportunity to appreciate and understand why our country needs him a whole lot more than he needs us!

  10. You are the brightest and most thoughtful of all the recent Presidents. If you were white, we wouldn’t have this problem. You care about all! Keep up the good work and forget about the Republicans agenda.

  11. We love you, President Barak Obama. Please know that we are out here standing behind you ever when you may feel you are getting nowhere. RACISM IS THE 2 TON ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM.

We love and admire and respect you and are with you wholeheartedly.

    Love and Peace

  12. President Obama is doing a great job as our President. Thank you for ALL you do for us. It is truly appreciated. To The First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama you are the essence of a real woman. Thank you for standing by our President & allowing us to reap the rewards of the knowledge President Obama possess. Thanks again.

  13. Gail – -I say the same thing to myself & others at least twice a day, every day.

We are priviledged to have him & family in the White House, and the very idea that the fools in this country are trying to topple him is a travesty.

  14. Let’s keep prayerful we are blessed to have a President with a brain. There is more than enough blame to go around for all of the selected Bush bad, wrong, and rotten policies, Now people are so racist they try to compare the woman from Alaska with him. Now we have to stay focused with our President Obama.

  15. You said a mouthful as the old folk say. When white is cut they bleed, black bleed the same way.I worked in surgery, everyone’s inside is the same color. It’s just the outside skin. With racism the heart is black in the whites.

  16. I THANK GOD EVERY DAY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MR OBAMA. I THANK GOD HE SENT SOMEONE THAT BELIEVES AND IS NOT FEARFUL OF CHANGE. BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

  17. Dear Mr. President.

You have shown the way- irrespective of religion, class or any human deterrent facts. As a Member of the General Assembly and the first African General Coordinator amongst the current four General Coordinators of the Humanist Movement International, I pray that as we belive- the Human person is key before anything else- TREAT OTHERS AS YOU EXPECT TO BE TREATED. 19. Dear President Obama. We Americans don’t handle fear of economic and world leadership loss very well. Maybe now that the unthoughtful have voted, they will take some time to examine the historic accomplishments and steady leadership you have brought to the office. I’m not a praying person, but for you and your family, I’m making an exception.

  20. President Obama… We are truly blessed to have you as our president… You have already done great things & you have a lot more to accomplish within the next term. My family supports you endlessly. We pray for you & your family as we pray for ourselves. You are indeed an inspiration…

  21. Please President Obama, Stand with Israel it is important that the United States honors this partnership. Do not divide the land and give it to Palestein. Our Nationa will have the hand of Almighty God and His favor will be on this Nation, if we turn our back we as a nation will suffer. Isaish 40:13 Those who wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength they shall mount up with woing as eagles they shall run amd not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. I pray for you every day.

  22. Dear Mr. President, I had the honor of meeting you for a brief moment when you came to Dover NH to campaign. Thank you for all you do and know that we are behind you and each doing our best to forge ahead in these difficult times.

Thank you for your heart for our country and for recognizing those who are the little people, and for caring about the environment and for pushing for policies and laws to protect it. God Bless and merry Christmas to you and your family,
    Fleur Palau

  23. Prayers for peace and blessings throughout the New Year. Inspire us, uplift us and lead this country like there is no tomorrow. Give voice to the voiceless and strength to the hopeless. This we ask in the name of the Creator! Amen!

  24. I would love to meet you one day mr president. I voted for you and I have not regretted it. I know within my heart that you are what America needs in a leader at this time. May God continue to bless us in your leadership.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Wishing you Love and Peace.
    Marjorie

  25. Mr. President,

I’m proud and privilegee to have you represent me and this great nation. You are the shining light of reason in our darkest hours and ‘no weapon formed against you shall prosper.’ It is done. It’s your SEASON and your TIME. For it is written. May God continue to bless you and yours. Always by your side and got your back.

  26. Some day – ALL americans will realize that
Baraq Obama was the best president they
    ever had .

  27. Merry Christmas every one. There are many whites who define themselves by their whiteness. It’s the only thing they have going for themselves. They have been reared to believe that they have privilges that are theirs only because they are white.
I feel sorry for them because to acknowledge anything else is to recognize that one has been lied to all their lives and that in actuality ‘I’m truly no different than anyone else’. That’s why many whites fight like their lives depended on it to hold on to what they feel is ‘naturally’ theirs. Even some very educated whites hold these feelings. We as blacks have to on the other hand teach our children that nothing in life comes without sacrifices that nothing is handed to you. One has to learn and accept another person’s weakness, not as a way to destroy the other person, but as a way for us to sidestep the flaws and not become engaged in no win self defeating battles. We can never really change someone else flaws, but we can change the way we respond to those flaws.
We can learn from President Obama. He recogized the dilemmas he was faced with and found ways around them. True, he was educated with a somewhat privilege education, but Michelle wasn’t. When I hear about black children not being able to learn, I always think back to things I was taught in school in Mississippi of all places about the slaves who taught themselves to read and write often by candlelite under hidden covers least they be killed for defying the ‘Massas’ order not to. Even back then, the whites knew an educated black was a threat to them because many of ‘them’ were uneducated themselves.
So my young black youths of today. Go to school, learn as much as you can. Your school’s not perfect. OK, you have a library full of books. Take a visit there and utilize it’s treasures. Teach yourself and if there is something you don’t understand, there will be someone there who can point you in right direction. Don’t get bogged down in the world that is teaching you about the glitter. There is nothing wrong with glitter, but don’t allow it to become YOUR world….just only a very small sliver will do. Don’t be like the whites who whole life is defined by their whiteness. We as a people are so much more than diamonds, silver, gold ect. Let our minds becomes our treasures. Like Obama and Michelle.

  28. Everytie my 3 yr old daughter looks at his photo, she goes, “Wook, that’s a daddy”. I tell her, “baby, that’s the president. Say president”. She says, “no nonny, that’s a daddy. he happy!” Love it!

  29. My prayer is, God’s spirit will enter the hearts of every Congress person
And they will understand that you, Mr. President, are wanting the best for the entire nation, and they will cooperate, disregarding their Party affiliation. I admire you and your family very much.

  30. When we African Americans or Americans of African descent, do not fit the view of most whites, these insecure individuals must find some abnormality or fault with us. What the President is experiencing is no different than the majority of us experience in the workplace, on the streets, in the classroom, boardroom every day. He and we will simply continue to surpass expectations. That is what we have always done…which is our and his greatness !!!

  31. Obama is the best. Not only does he have a heart for the suffeing of others, he has the courage to actually take on a myriad of problems and see what can be done. We would be in a depression had he not done the stimulus money. I have never been prouder of our country and think our president is leading us in the absolute way we should go. He is rock, a very bright guy and has the heart of the Buddha.

  32. Thank president Obama for being the best leader for this country we have ever had.keep being cool, calm, and presidential.

  33. THIS “BLACK MAMA” – ME LOVE PRESIDENT OBAMA A WHOLE LOT, PLEASE JUST GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!

DID WE FORGET THAT “BUSH” DID THIS SHIT!!!!!

PRESIDENT OBAMA NOW HAVE TO CLEAN “BUSH SHIT UP.

  34. Thank God you are here, at this time, in this place. This has been a hard, hard year for you, and 2011 shows little sign of letting up–but when times get hard, Mr. President, remember just how very much you’re needed, and how very much you’re loved!

  35. Dear Mr. President, I am really thankful we have a leader who knows that insistence on the perfect result is the enemy of a good result, which enables you to find a few narrow areas of common ground with Republicans that would try to block everything you propose. You are the best man in all of America to be our President in these difficult dangerous times.

  36. Thank you, American people, for electing a truly great leader to be president of these United States. With 70 % of his pre-election promises now realized, we must fight to ensure that the remainder become law. Support him, and do not let what he has accomplished thus far to be wasted. We deserve the laws he has enacted, do not let them be overturned by the selfish and evil political forces confronting him. As a senior citizen, I am proud to observe that I lived to see two great presidents of this country, FDR and President Obama, both who have worked to save our nation, and better the way of life all of us are entitled to in spite of conservative forces looking to only further their own agendas. Let us give our support to our President, and to laws that will truly make this country an American Dream.

  37. Like when watching a rainbow, or an amazing flock of birds fly overhead, or a memorable sunset… I am in awe when I see and hear President Obama. I know I am witnessing intelligence in action, poise under pressure, composition in chaos and will always be grateful for his courage, grace and maturity. Unlike the natural phenomena mentioned above, the influence of this presidency has the chance of shaping the future for all of the world. May we be good shepherds and keep the “Hope” alive, faithful to the dream Mr. Obama brought to life.

  38. Dear Mr. President: I think I have read through all the “letters” up to this point, and if I am not mistaken, no one has mentioned, Mr. President, that you are neither Black nor White – you are both Black and White!!! How can everyone ignore this fact? I believe with all my heart, that THIS is what has made you the perfect president for this country! Not only were you born of White and Black parents, but of parents from different countries. Then, you were raised by the White mother and grandparents, in a part of this world (Hawaii) sprinkled with many different races. What a wonderful childhood to prepare you to lead this country of every known race! I read your book, “The Audacity of Hope” before you had even run for president, but I knew immediately that you MUST be the next president of these United States! So, for every person of the Black race who brags about you, Mr. President, I (very White) must also brag about you for our race. I am not only proud of you, Mr. President, but also of our First Lady and your lovely daughters. Unfortunately, now approaching my 77th year, I can not do the amount of work I would like to help you to get elected to a second term. All I can offer is my mouth and my written words. Respectfully, Helen Misener

  39. Thanks BWD. To have started and also maintaining this site is indeed a labour of love. Now we can get away from all the faux progressive sites that have turned quasi-republican mout-pieces!.
By keeping his cool and remaining focused on the ‘north star’ in the face of unprecedented personal attacks, the President sends us supporters a clear message:….’I got this’. The least we can do is to ‘get’ his back as well.

  40. being black does not keep him from being an ideal president. it just gets in the eyes of that segment of the population that feels threatened by change and keeps them from seeing it. besides i consider him a little less than “ideal” because he does not stand up more to hypocrites like mitch mcconnel & john boehner.

  41. Obama has accomplished more in 2 years than most presidents have in 4 or 8, including health care reform, improved relations with Arab countries (thereby improving chances of peace in the Middle East), extension of unemployment benefits for those who lost jobs when our economy tanked (opposed by Republicans), financial reform of Wall St. & banks (all but 3 Republican senators voted against reform), crucial arms control treaty with Russia (supported by European countries and by prominent Republicans, among them James Baker, George H.W. Bush, Henry Kissinger, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, etc. BUT opposed by current elected Republicans), 9/11 responders health care bill (also opposed by Republicans), children’s health insurance, etc., etc., etc. Obama has accomplished the
above and more —- in spite of fierce and vicious Republican opposition

  42. He has a bigger task than to stand up to little people whose minds are little and insecure. I approve of his approach; otherwise, they would get into his mnind and become a major distraction. I admire his wisdom. We as a people must learn to follow this example.

  43. Have you SEEN the skin heads and the white supremacists who spew hatred? And they think they are superior and want the world for themselves. It is pathetic. The fact that there are so many like them gives one chills. Those with sense must keep supporting Obama. He will need the help of the sane to keep the nuts at bay.

  44. Will we ever see a man so intelligent, and so caring again in life, hum?? There is no way that he could do all he has done without Jehovah God’s blessing. I too believe that Jehovah has his hands on him, his family, and all those in his circle, and the critics didn’t think a black man could be this intelligent and do a job this well. Well as you can see it’s being done and he will have the Republican and Democrats working together before he leaves office. I love the way his wife supports him.

Thank you Jehovah God for our President because we were really going to hell in a hand basket.

Thank you Mr. President for all you.

  45. I thank God for the Obamas and it is time for everyone to take notice of what a well job our President Obama is doing each day and for everyone to praise his doing.

    Thank God Almighty

  46. Yes, we are fortunate to have Mr. Obama as our President. I only hope all the Tea Partiers will realize how mistaken they were this past election and come to their senses before the next one. I never saw so many people vote against their own self interest this last time around. If they are TRUE constitutionalists they will realize that you can’t pick and choose as to what you want. If you want to stick to the constitution, don’t try to change it now. Wake up people and smell the coffee. Why would the Repub/Tea party exempt from legislation so humane an act as the Obama care and at the same time plan to run the deficit up by trillions when they SAY they are trying to hold the line on spending. It’s just so they can thwart Mr. Obama. They can’t stand it that he did something FOR THE PEOPLE.

  47. Don’t expect teapartiers to change their vote in the next election. They’re votes are based on irrational emotions. Obama won in 2008 because blacks, Hispanics and young people turned out and voted in record number. If they vote again, he will win. If they are disillusioned and stay home, he will lose.

  48. Oh, all you females just have a crush on him like me. He is a cutie pie with a smile to die for. Best President we have had in a long time.

My (white family) is divided. Mostly conservative, overly aggressive, over bearing, closed minded, insecure right wing nut jobs.
Then there is me. The progressive Left Wing black sheep of the family who they pray for.

  49. One way of looking at him is to claim his blackness at 100 per cent and his whiteness at 100 per cent. It isn’t a mathematical thing at all, but a
matter of the forces that influenced him. When he is out in public, he is 100 per cent black, but when he faces an issue – no matter how big or how insignificant, the white experiences of his mother and grandparents and of his own reaction to it is 100 per cent as well.

Another way of putting it is in the context of racism which is still huge in this nation in 2011. No matter where he is, people react to him 100 per cent as a black man. In countries of color, folks feel closer to him because of his skin color; in white nations, racism is always present at this point of history. Neither he nor we can ignore it because of our own racism.

Even in France which has a history of treating its sub-Sahara residents better than we have to admit that their sub-human treatment of their Algerian residents is disgraceful, so even they have their targets in terms of ethnicity. No one is exempt on this planet which comes out to Obama’s experience as a human being is 100 per cent Black and 100 per cent White.

  50. I am french, was overjoyed when President Obama was elected;unfortunately it is a bad time for him and all our governments, this awful crisis adding to the difficulties inherent to their task! The world should be grateful to have this great president in this great country!I deeply deplore racism and this intelligent eminently nice family should be an example for the world!we all live in multiracial, multireligeous societies and, little by little, racial differences will disappear ,when? it will take time!so,let’s live in peace, tolerance ,respect and compassion for the time being and forever!and let’s admire and encourage Mr Obama’s efforts to overcome the errors of the past and get to terms with the problems of the present!
but we should realize that supremacy of the western world is over;so let us find our place in this world and accept that other nations will play a more and more important
role !let’s be more modest and humble!michelle(I am white ,but that does not make any difference!Unfortunately there is much racism in my country as well!!!)

  51. Everything you said is so true and stated so eloquently. We have to remember to pray for our weakness as well as others weakness. People don’t realize that nothing goes on in this world without GOD noticing what is happening. The sinful nature of man is in GOD’s hand and he deals with all because he is the creator. He knows our DNA.

  52. Please don’t use reverse racism! Reverse racism is essentially promoting somebody because of their ethnicity or skin color. Simply because President Obama happens to be of a different skin color makes no difference on the right wing’s views of him. As a matter of fact, I would propose that if he were white, the conservative populous would come down even harder on him. Of course, I can’t say that NO conservatives are against him because he is black, but in the same way you can’t say that the only reason the Right is against him IS because he is black. Lets stick to the issues that really matter people.

  53. I pray for you Mr. President and your family every day. I don’t know where we would be today if it wasn’t for you. It is a shame that in 2011 we still have so much hate in this country, and it is not so much the younger generation then it is all those old folks who really should have learned something in all these years. All I can say is keep doing what you are doing. May God continue to walk with you and guide you. Hopefully in the near future, people will finally grow up and learn to appreciate just what kind of man and president you are.

    VJB

  54. President Obama, Is the most intelligent and ingenious president, I have lived to witness in my 59 years. He has a heart like gold and a smile you will never forget. All the negitive talk which is geared toward him, he continues to be our ingenious pesident and keeps that million dollar smile.

The harder people try to belittle him, the higher his head and his foot steps get. It is time to stop the drama, and omit the man has done a swell job in his short time in office.

    Rosa Brice

  55. Having spent most of my adult life in the military has had dramatic affects on my life. I don’t usually comment on these blogs where people constantly show they refuse to accept differences in others. As a young Black soldier back in the 70s, we encountered discrimination constantly from the conservative Southern commanders. On the contrary most of the guys that were dodging bullets and low crawling through the jungles accepted us and identified. I find it the same with the Tea Party and neo-conservative Sarah Palins, and Glenn Becks. They are so far away from the normal Americans and try to use fear and hate to get their points across, just as the bigoted soldiers would tell the Europeans and Koreans we Black soldiers had tails and carried diseases. The lynchings that went on in the South, the rapes of our foremothers, the refusal to allow our children to have an equal education, how can any rational Christian person speak reverse racism. How many Blacks have lynched whites? How many Blacks have displaced Whites and put them in subservient roles. Secondly, while the war is continuing to rage, Blacks are dying just as fast as whites. How many of you tea party supporters are defending the freedoms that you so most say that Obama is taking away from you . Ignorant, frightened whites, led by capitalist instigators, are being mislead again that Blacks would totally consume the job market. If we allow the Tea Party to control politics, lynching will run rampant. Finally, after the war, do we want Black veterans to return home to the same racist country they had fought so heroically to defend.

  56. Mr. President,
I am so very proud of your work. I will continue to pray for you as well as the House and Congress. You can only accomplish what the body is willing to work for together. I am hoping that soon they will realize that your succes will be enjoyed by All people. We have a right to disagree but be willing to offer something better when you do. You are a family , Congress, House and President. Keep in mind, through prayer and hard work, anything can be accomplished if God is in the plan. I ask that all of you pray for each other and that you work for the good of the people.

  57. **With all the fighting and war going on, I am reassured to have Obama in office. He is a THINKING man without the need to be a “macho” American! I am pleased knowing he will try every diplomatic approach before starting any more problems.
**Before Obama was even elected, the GOP was already running scared. I heard comments made on a news show that the GOP was going to vote against any/everything that Obama wasn’t to accomplish. Their thinking (or lack of it),was to make sure Obama failed, even though he was cleaning up the GOP’s mess… GOP will do ANYTHING to get back into power – regardless of the needs of the people!
**I am amazed at how little we American’s know of our history! Even so, I find it hard to believe that people have such SHORT memories! Obama was elected into an absolute mess and thinking he can “clean it up” in a couple of months borders between ignorant and clueless! Hell, we can’t even straighten out our household budgets that fast. WE are the people that allowed the GOP to screw things up and even gave them 8 yrs. to do so – where were all the protests and naysaying then? Times are excruciatingly painful now for many of us and unfortunately we must be patient and hang in there. If you think that letting the GOP back into power is going to solve anything, you’re right! They will once again look out for A/ themselves & their investments B/ big business and corporate action and C/ ways to assure the rich keep as much of their money as possible (includes them).
**Don’t forget the GOP has been holding benefits, tax cuts, aid to the needy, etc. HOSTAGE just to insure the taxes aren’t raised for the rich! It seems appropriate for GOP to whine and complain about the deficit but God forbid they and their society folks have to cough over any more cash!
**NOW GOP is planning to close Planned Parenthood Clinics! I can agree that the government not pay for abortions – NO PROBLEM. However, the clinics are a source for prenatal care, birth control, pap smears and routine care and many women have no where else to go. Are we to deny basic care? Is it ethical to stop providing prenatal care when the US has one of the HIGHEST rates of infant mortality – especially since we are supposted to be the richest and most powerful country in the world. Let’s not forget about the birth control to avoid unwanted pregnancies BEFORE the abortion stage! When times get stressful child abuse and murders rise. So, the solution is stopping access to birth control, allowing many more unwanted children to comeinto this world just to suffer and likely die?? Does this make sense? We won’t even go into illegal abortions and the consequences!
****SORRY THIS IS SO LONG – I GUESS YOU CAN TELL I AM VERY FRUSTRATED! AS MUCH WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND THE SEEMING LACK OF ABILITY TO THINK THINGS THROUGH AS I AM WITH THE GREED AND LACK OF COMMON COMPASSION AND DECENCY OF THE GOP!
*****KEEP IN MIND – – If it weren’t for the Dems we would have NO soc. security, NO medicare, NO medicaid, NO foodstamps or public assistance! THIS LIST JUST OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, I SHUDDER TO THINK OF ALL THE OTHER “PRIVLEDGES” THE GOP WOULD HAVE US DO WITHOUT! OH GEE – BLACKS AND WOMEN VOTING ALSO! tEDDY kENNEDY HAS BEEN FIGHTING FOR HEALTHCARE FOR ALL AMERICANS SINCE THE SIXTYS – THE GOP HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE ROADBLOCK…SOMETHINGS NEVER CHANGE!

  58. Being a caregiver of a 3 year old when President Obama took office was life changing for him as well as his brother who is 9 now. His younger brother new what was going on yet it was the enhancement of the youngest to encourage the other. Now my children pray every morning for our Nation’s Presidental Family.

I am very greatful for having him in office and instead of tearing him down, we should be praying that he is lifted up for accepting a position of craziness, uncertainty, lies and deception and what we experience every day of our lives back stabbing from those we cannot see or even know. What one man and his family has to endure is more than any of us are willing to accept or even try for a day.

Mr. President on behalf of my children, my family and others that are willing to stand for something good, Thank you. You can only try as others are trying to come against you.

As I am learning, what God has ordain to be done, His will will be done and until you have accomplish what “I Am” has called you to do, you will not be moved until it is done. Words that I am digesting and will learn to accept, teach my children and pray that they will live by as I am. See we don’t know why we will to do things but never look beyond your Heavely Father and you will be bless in your comings and goings.

    Be bless
    Terrii

  59. Proud to have you as my president Mr. Obama. Please continue to let God lead you in all your decision makings and you will never go wrong.

Love to Michelle and the girls…….

Be Encouraged. God has your back because He’s always in control. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

  60. Dear President, I want you to know that you are not just elected for this presidency, you are chosen by God and backed by the spirits of our Anchestors. Continue to move through them, with them, to the worlg because you are also chosen to direct the entire world. God be with you and you will never mis-lead. Francis Awe.

  61. I am just so glad so many people see the President as I do, and that is , God chose him to be leader of this nation ; he will carry out the will of God. Cordell Wooten
