Speaker Boehner’s phones are all overloaded. I stayed up all knight trying to get through without much success. I am really proud of all the people who answered the President’s call. We must keep up the heat to let the Speaker, and his teabaggers, know that they can’t cynically destroy this country just because they hate the President.

I’ve sent off my e-mail’s of encouragement to my two Dem senators and my Dem rep, and now just waiting for Moaner Boner’s office to open to give him a call. I hate being considered as “collateral damage”. Boy, that makes me angry.

You are so right, Toon. Economic terrorists affect billions of people across the world and the terror goes on and on for decades, not just minutes.
My heart is lifted when I see bankrupt countries, like Ireland, deciding that they CAN find some money to use for food relief for Africa even when it is needed at home as well.
Republicans treat people like dirt.
I have emailed my Congresspeople as soon as the local offices open I will call. I have been trying to get on the speakers email, the website comes up but can’t get the email too. I’ll keep trying.
I wrote this on the other thread – I think it’s really important to contact friends and family who have R reps in Congress and ask them to make the contacts, too. I’m mostly an e-mailer, and unless I want to lie and give a phony address to someone who’s not my Cong. Rep, I see this as the best way to drive up numbers of responses. Remember that the right-wingers are listening, too and they may be jamming the phone lines and email systems, too. We can’t assume all that traffic is coming from supporters of the President.
And, some of that traffic is going to Dems whose votes are not in question. So again, if you know anyone who lives in an R district, ask them to make the call/send the email.

I left my newly elected tea bagger rep a scathing message last night- I rely on both Social Security Check and VA medical care and I told him I’m tired of their tea party BS- do their dang job- quit playing with American lives. Will be calling throughout the day. Thank you bwd for the lists!
Yep- that is the only thing sweet about all of this- the response to the President’s request has proven all of those who call themselves “the base” the liars they are.. and it better make clear to all of the GOP what THEY are up against in this upcoming election… they haven’t seen anything yet- we’re just getting started 😉
I split time between states and have been on the phone and online constantly. I hope I’m one of the many who “crashed the boards” and filled up e- and v-mail boxes; I certainly tried. I’ve called and written representatives of two states, House and Senate. I’ve also sent messages of support to Democratic Party members I respect to put the pressure on the reasonable Republicans in their midst. MOST importantly? I’ve strongly urged them to support THIS President, given the unique challenges and lack of support he faces.
The only thing I disagreed with PBO’s speech last night is when he said “the American people voted for divided government, not dysfunctional government”. The Repubs and Independents, voted these teabaggers into office and they are ALL dysfunctional…every single one of them that ran and those that won. Americans did this to themselves including the Dems that stayed home.
