  1. Mornin’ BWD and fellow TOAITR’ers,

Thanks for the new playground, WE will put it to good use! ;)

BWD, this site would be a great addition to the TOAITR’s Blogroll. You should check it out:

TODAY WITH PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: DAILY HAPPENINGS AND SPEECHES FROM OBAMA AND HIS ADMINISTRATION… http://ochairball.blogspot.com/

And, its’ has a Twitter account… @KnowYourObama (You maybe followin’ it…Hmmm?)

By the way, desertflower “noticed” it, first…

    It’s her “find!” ;)

Everyone have a great Monday and workweek! :)

  2. Just was forwarded a piece from the Huffington Post by a friend who is a progressive, suggesting that the President is a Republican. Thought I read that there was an article in the Wash Post to that effect. Guess this is the new “approach” to pitting the Dems against each other and depressing voter turnout.

I believe the worst blow we could deal to the right wing propagandists is not to fly at one another but to work ever more in unison.

  3. This is not new on HP. I have no way of knowing if these people are Repub operatives pretending to be progressives or progressives who are living in an alternate universe. Either way they’ve been calling President Obama a Repub for at least a 1 1/2 years. Evidently they didn’t live under Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and both Bushes. I did and President Obama has signed some of the most liberal legislation since LBJ. These people are nuts.

  4. PRESIDENT’S MONDAY SCHEDULE

11:10 AM – The President and the Vice President receive the Presidential Daily Briefing

11:40 AM – The President meets with senior advisors

3:45 PM – The President and the Vice President meet with Secretary of State Clinton

4:20 PM – THE PRESIDENT AND THE VICE PRESIDENT MEET WITH A BIPARTISAN GROUP OF MAYORS TO DISCUSS THE ECONOMY AND HEAR FROM THE MAYORS ABOUT THEIR LOCAL EFFORTS TO CREATE JOBS AND SPUR ECONOMIC GROWTH.

7:25 PM – THE PRESIDENT DELIVERS REMARKS AT A DNC EVENT, DC, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington

9:10 PM – THE PRESIDENT DELIVERS REMARKS AT A DNC EVENT, DC, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington
    ———————————————————————————————————————————————-
If there are any TeaPublican-elected mayors attendin’ this meeting, their economic and job solutions are probably the same ones as their governors, state legislators, and congressional members, more spendin’ cuts and more tax cuts!

That’s why WE have to VOTE ‘EM OUT, too!!!

I wonder if my mayor from S.A., Julian Castro, will be there…Hmmm?!

And, OSG thanks again for this reminder! I hope you don’t mind me repostin’, here? ;) lol

BALTIMORE — Mayor Rahm Emanuel was warmly embraced at his U.S. Conference of Mayors debut here, partly because of his celebrity, but more important to cash-starved mayors, Emanuel is seen as key to getting Washington to ship more money to cities….
“People are excited that he is here, excited about the potential enhanced relationship with the White House and just getting to know him as mayor,” Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake told me…more

    I’M IN…FIRED UP & GOIN’!

  5. You should email your friend back and tell them that huffington Post is not a liberal newspaper. Also he or she should stop reading it.

  6. Morning, snoopy:) Thanks for posting that again….I didn’t see it added to the blogroll, so I just that she opted not to put it up there. I thought my “stumbled upon” site was worth showing everyone. Hope the family has a good Monday:) Thanks for all your hard work.

  7. This might seem hella random but I’m waiting until the day that Arianna Huffington, Ed Shultz, and Jon Stewart come out in favor of Mitt Romney. It might happen after the nominations in August 2012 but I honestly believe at least 2 of those 3 names will favor him. Seriously.

  8. We love you BWD. Get the rest you need. Hopefully you can find some help with the site so it won’t be so burdensome for you. See ya when you get back and thanks for the new playground. :)

  9. Hello folks. Happy Monday. Here’s hoping for a great week for all those who are “IN”

  10. Just a joyous Saturday.

I finally got my Birther Certificate T-Shirt. I can’t wait to put it on. In district 6 in MN, the president isn’t that popular but, I am willing to save it until the 4th of July and just wear it around where parades are being held.

  11. I’m pretty sure they are GOP operatives. That place is just a tabloid antiObama outrage inducing circus.
When Andrew Briebart was getting Arianna’ Huffington’s blessing to blog there I checked out for good.

  12. I don’t usually post here often as I am on TOD’s site but I thought ya’ll might want to know that

White House Reporter Ed Henry Leaving CNN, Joining FOX “NEWS”

Ed Henry, CNN’s chief White House correspondent is leaving for Fox News, Mediaite and others report.

Henry’s contract with CNN was up. In a short statement, CNN says “we thank Ed for his contributions and wish him the best. We will be naming our new chief White House correspondent in the coming days.”

  13. Morning, Fred! nice to see you here….Henry will NOT be missed. Actually, I think he’ll fit in quite nicely over there at FOX…I always thought he was a partisan reporter….and was blatant about which side of the aisle he prefered. I won’t miss him, even though I try and stay away from tv talkers. Thanks for the update.

  14. Good Morning BWD and TOAITR family. Glad to hear you will be back later this week BWD. Hope this time off has been very healing for you. This wonderful family has really kept the ball rolling for this blog. You are all amazing!!!

I am definitly not surprised to hear that Ed Henry is moving to FOX. I never did like him.

We had a wonderful weekend of celebrating Father’s Day and our 40th Wedding Anniversary. It is so wonderful to have so like minded friends. This crowd is all Obama loving people. We will all be voting and getting out to work.

Thanks to everyone here for keeping us all informed. Keep up the great work.

  15. Fred Thanks! smart people do not watch Ed he is slezy reporter and smart people do not watch CNN either, and smart people NEVER watch FOX.

  16. Olbermann’s show debuts tonight with Markos Moulitsas and Michael Moore as his first guest. I wonder which one will be the first to bash President Obama? President Obama’s senior advisor David Axelrod will appear on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show to discuss Lt. Dan Choi and other topics, this should be very interesting seeing as O’Donnell let Lt. Choi say the most outrageous things about the Obama administration without even questioning him.

  17. Michael moore.
moore was one of the very few pl who thought that bin laden being dead was a bad thing.

  18. Oh, this makes me happy.

Screaming headline on TPM: ‘PUBLIC POLICY NIGHTMARE’ Fl Tea Party Chair Slams GOP Medicare Plan. The sub-headline reads: FL Tea Party Chair: Republicans Should Back Away From Ryan’s Medicare Plan … Predicts It Will Trigger ‘Huge Democratic Wins In 2012’ … And Warns GOPers Will Blame Tea Party For Their Losses

I think this is the first dawning of understanding upon the TP: they’re just cannon fodder.

  19. I love that he is leaving CNN. Maybe they can get an intelligent WH reporter then? Chip Reid on CBS is geting replaced by Norah O’Donnell. So, now we have 2 less idiots in the WH pressroom. Now, just to get rid of Jake Tapper and Chuck Todd.

On a side note, I can’t post at all on TOD using this computer. It is so frustrating.

  20. I asked this on the other thread, but it bears repeating here – the 10-20% of Democrats who disapprove of Obama are given prominent platforms on MSNBC, Huffington Post, DailyKos, NYTimes, Washington Post and now Keith’s new show. Where is the platform for the 80-90% of Democrats who approve of Obama?

I am disappointed that Al Gore is going to let Keith turn his channel into one mroe Bash Obama channel.

  21. I emailed my friend back that I didn’t go to Huff Post anymore since the change in ownership. Truth be told I hadn’t gone there long before that because I noticed the tone toward the President was consistently negative and figured something was up.

  22. The NY Daily News has an article today on KO’s new show. I think this paragraph indicates what we can expect from him: He said one of his dry-run commentaries criticized President Obama for suggesting Rep. Anthony Weiner should resign, warning that such a comment could in some circumstance “come back to bite him.” The point, Olbermann said, is that he could make that criticism “without fearing there’d be any blowback for our White House correspondent – because we don’t have one.”

  23. Well, I won’t be watching Olbermann. I used to watch every day until he decided to go full firebagger. He became more ridiculous as time went on. I was glad when he left. I just hope O’Donnell isn’t planning to become a firebagger to compete with KO.

  24. I think this might be against twitter TOS. It could be impersonation in a round about way by making it seem like they’re quoting real tweets.

  25. Current TV’s average prime time viewership is 26,000. Again, twenty-six thousand. And it’s in a third as many homes as MSNBC. To say that KO will have an uphill climb to get those numbers up is an understatement.

  26. I didn’t think their viewership was very high but only 26,000? KO better plan on toning it down a bit or new viewers won’t watch.

  27. Olbermann is using Moore’s twitter support reach and Markos’ free advertising at Kos in hopes of getting ratings off of them. I hope the stations fails miserably. Moore has near 900K twitter followers, and Markos has the 600K views to DK each day to pimp their appearance to.

  28. You know, Don. I had set my TIVO to record Olbermann’s show. I was hoping that Current’s owner, Al Gore, would insist on a reality based program-due to his personal experience as a high level politician who had disgusting media treatment. From this first Olbermann foray, I’d say my hopes were misplaced.

If we decide that Olbermann’s new show requires push back, then I think we should focus our feedback to former VP Gore himself.

  29. first of all he did not tell Weiner he should resign. he said if it was him he would resign. he also stated that was a decision of his constuuetnts and weiner. people are saying he called for resign did not listen to the interview well.

  30. Makes me happy, too. I love it that the tea party thinks they can dictate policy. Hey they stepped in it big time and now they get to live with it. ALL those Republicans who are on record as voting to end Medicare to pay for tax cuts to the rich can eat that stuff they stepped in and wash it down with tea.

  31. Yep, one more bashing the president show. Just what we don’t need on cable. I am so sick of the group-think in progressive media especially when the group-think’s views are so dramatically different than 3/4 of the Democratic Party.

  32. In a way O’Donnell is worse because he gives a pltaform to Jane Hamsher, Adam Green and Lt. Choi to come on and act like the “progressive” or Democratic base’s voice.

  33. Yeah, it’s a pity he wasn’t born on the 4th of July.

However, being born on the 4th of August gives a whole new meaning to “The Guns of August”.

  34. Well then, if he’s a Republican, are the Republicans going to cancel their primary and tell their candidates to go home?

  35. I can’t think of a CNN reporter who isn’t going to represent the FOX way of thinking. They are all trying so hard to land jobs at FOX, they should just rename CNN. A bunch of malcontents over there, who don’t know anything about journalism. Only Fareed Zakaria displays moments of sanity.

  36. FIRED UP…!!

    READY TO GO..!!! :D

  37. I’m disappointed in Al Gore, too. I thought he was just being quietly dignified, working on good things behind the scenes without seeking the sensational spotlight. Now, it appears not.

  38. I agree – Al Gore needs to hear from us, if Olbermann is just hosting a “bash Obama” session. What a waste of a platform. And the PL talk about the cult of personality – well, their Olbermann infatuation is cultish, if there ever was one.

  39. Current is desperate for eyeballs. With an average primetime viewership of 26,000, cable companies are not in a rush to waste bandwidth by putting them on. KO is the gamble that they’ll get more viewers.

  40. AIDES TO GOP GOVERNOR INDICTED FOR TRYING TO SUPPRESS BLACK VOTER TURNOUT IN 2010 CAMPAIGN:

Two top aides to former Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich (R) were indicted Friday for trying to suppress Democratic voter turnout by ordering misleading phone calls that discouraged voters from going to the polls. The Baltimore Sun reports that Paul Schurick, Ehrlich’s communications director, and Julius Henson, a longtime GOP operative, directed this deceptive robocall campaign targeting the state’s black voters during last year’s gubernatorial campaign:

    http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/06/20/248353/maryland-suppressing-black-vote/

  41. 26,000 today and heading rapidly to 260. He needs to take a good hard look at PBO’s ratings with Democrats, who are the ones most likely to watch his show. Maybe all he wants is only that 10% or so who want to bash the President. If so, you’ll get to that 260 before you know it, KO.

  42. Oh, and Huntsman is looking okay to them. A nice, moderate Republican. Because that always works out well, doesn’ it?

  43. I really want to check out this opinion. I had heard that the parameters were way too broad for a class action. If that is the case then maybe another class action could be filed. I don’t know. that always works out well, doesn’ it?

  44. They will be falling all over themselves to bash Obama, and that includes Keith.

He could use his talents to actually help this country but he has chosen not to. I checked the website and his take from the Wal-Mart decision is that the entire court is moving rightward. So I can see he still isn’t checking facts before opening his mouth. I don’t know the deal on the Wal-Mart case, but that kind of rhetoric is inflammatory until you know all the facts. Sigh.

  45. And another day in AZ….our racist Senator now blames the wildfires on “illegal immigrants”. Of course there is NO PROOF of that professional opinion by the senator. The US Forest Service doesn’t agree with that statement….The AZ delegation of Congress toured the fire sites over the weekend and McCain came out with this made up story. He saw the huge Wallow fire. When pushed about his statement, he said that he didn’t mean they started the Wallow fire, but they started “other fires” along the border. Really? REALLY? He has NO IDEA who started those fires, but he IS fanning flames of hatred that already exist in copious amounts here. Thanks for nothing, ASSHOLE. Please feel free to write him, especially those of us that have to endure living in this state. Another day in the HateState.

  46. LOL @ Tien this the best line of the day :-) I love it

“can eat that stuff they stepped in and wash it down with tea”

  47. Exactly. It’s called “selective hearing”. :) I used to think it was an affliction only in my children, but it would seem that it is more wide spread than originally thought.

  48. Vyan over at DKos has a diary up entitled “DOJ calls Grand Jury for CIA Torture” which is about this Time article:

“Federal Grand Jury Investigates War Crimes and Torture in Death of ‘the Iceman’ at Abu Ghraib, Plus Other Alleged CIA Abuses”

    Read more: http://battleland.blogs.time.com/2011/06/13/haunted-by-homicide-federal-grand-jury-investigates-war-crimes-and-torture-in-death-of-the-ice-man-at-abu-ghraib-and-other-alleged-cia-abuses/#ixzz1PqV4H1ry

In the comments, there’s an astute observation from cryptodira:

“Fascinating! When Special Prosecutor Durham decides to NOT prosecute something, the diary about it gets 270 recommends and 199 comments.

But when he convenes a Grand Jury – crickets.

And some continue to believe that epistemic closure is only a phenomenon of the right.”

  49. The court said each case was slightly different so it did not qualify for a class action, but each woman could file her own case. Net to each woman would be about $1,000 and there is no lawyer in the US who will take a case for $1,100, so effectively the SC has killed their chances. Clever, huh?

  50. Thank you WIW, my fellow Californian….

I am so proud of Boxer. I worked my but off to get her, Jerry Brown, and the other Dems elected last year!

    Fired Up!

  51. You guys are so lucky to have a senator like Barbara Boxer! I am SO jealous. By the way, JoJo….like the new avatar…can see you here right away:)

  52. Thank heaven that John McCain lost the election. First, he inflicts palin on us all, and now he wants to fuel hatred and distrust. Shame on him!

  53. Anyone with the lack of patriotism to just choose Palin because she would take the PUMA votes, should have resigned his Senate seat and left the public stage. So goes American political discourse these days…….

  54. I wonder when we’ll get news on how much the Obama re-elect campaign raised so far. I am hoping that the #s are massive to stop the people no longer approve of Obama nonsense.

  55. Yes, you did say he was an idiot but say it again because he is an idiot! He is also a racist.

  56. Sasha and Malia Obama were given blankets in with the colors of the South African flag as a welcome.

    http://twitpic.com/5efgb7

First pics of the arrival in S Africa….and Michelle was greeted with flowers

  57. Actually, I think I said “idiot” “racist” “asshole”. That about covers it, unless I add useless to the list.

  58. Who could make this stuff up?

The survey was not intended as a predictive economic analysis of the impact of the Affordable Care Act. Rather, it captured the attitudes of employers and provided an understanding of the factors that could influence decision making related to employee health benefits.
As such, our survey results are not comparable to the healthcare research and analysis conducted by others such as the Congressional Budget Office, RAND and the Urban Institute. Each of those studies employed economic modeling, not opinion surveys, and focused on the impact of healthcare reform on individuals, not employer attitudes.

Comparing the McKinsey survey to economic estimates, such as the CBO’s, is comparing apples to oranges. While the McKinsey Quarterly article about the survey cited CBO estimates, any comparison is not apt. We understand how the language in the article could lead the reader to think the research was a prediction, but it is not. – The Washington Post

  59. Excuse me, I’m working on a blank screen. This is the ‘study’ of ‘respondents who had been ‘educated’ about ACA before responding. Boehner loves this ‘study’

  60. Good assessment about this over at WashingtonMonthly. Seems it’s down to semantics now.

  61. I am looking forward to O’Donnell having Axelrod on tonight as he said last Friday it’s a rebuttal to Lt. Choi’s recent verbal assaults against our President. Either as a military parent or just as a pragmatic person, his irrational and childish behavior really turns me off from respecting what he has to say and especially because he’s being dishonest. (good thing that I’m already pro-Marriage for LBGT because his bad behavior would never persuade me to listen)

  62. Its about time, let see what he says about how he is helping the black community.

  63. It’s simply breathtaking the depths to which the Republicans are sinking in order to destroy any chance the middle class has of regaining some ground. And it’s a wonder that people are just blindly allowing it to happen, and that 40% of the country wants these Republicans to have complete control of the government, mistakenly thinking that they will somehow gain some prosperity in the process (despite glaring evidence to the contrary). Republicans have been nibbling away quietly at the America that once existed – it’s hardly recognizable.

  64. I don’t know why Choi was given air time to spew his evil bile in the first place. If the media would just ignore that ilk (Choi, palin), then we would be able to move on so much more quickly, and wouldn’t need Axelrod to waste a television appearance refuting nonsense, instead of educating the public about the future choices they need to make.

  65. I know! Ignorance is bliss! We will have to fight hard, but nothing worth fighting for is ever easy, b ut it’s always worth it. One thing that I think we forget is that the President isn’t out among the masses campaigning in earnest yet. Not telling the public what the R’s plan is in comparison, and what that would mean for most Americans. There is a void now in “punditland” and all we hear is the bashing sound….that will not last forever, and when he get’s fired up, along with all of us working hard, well….you know.

  66. It was! And I had no idea that gladiatorial combats had referees. Of course, back then referee screwups were a bit more terminal.

  67. I was diasappointed that O’Donnell had him on but then I’m thinking the rebuttal was well planned after the weekend fiasco. It’s so frustrating to watch a group pretending that they are Obama’s base and promote Lt. Choi, who isn’t even a Democrat to spout bullshit lies about our President for self promotion.

  68. I think Robert Reich has been explaining the economy well these past couple of weeks, but I don’t like that he’s been bashing the President ever since he left the advisory committee after the Transition. Didn’t NAFTA and other disadvantaging trade deals get enacted during Reich’s time as Labor Secretary? Dems who have done the hard job of holding office in the Federal government should be supporting subsequent Administrations, since they know how hard it is, and how all the facts aren’t always known by people on the outside. I like that he’s decided to be constructive, and lend his know-how to communicating the truth, and I hope it holds. We don’t need more bashers.

  69. Now I hope we’re not going to get all “positive” and start making up goofy campaign slogans or something.

Because before you know it, you’ll end up with…

Barack 2012 — Ride the Lightning

    Or…

    Barack 2012
This Time, the Lightning Strikes *Twice*

  70. Okay, so can we all stop calling her a disaffected progressive now, and maybe start calling her Republican shill?

  71. Y’all don’t tell nobody now, but those foreigners apparently see the U.S. as a place worth investing in, according to the WSJ. Seems such investments have jumped some 49% from 09-10,; $288 billion is what has been invested in that period. Now this should debunk , no, further debunk, the claim that President Obama is bad for business. I know a certain group of critic-supporters who will say this is just further evidence that he is a corporatist (whatever that means). Why can’t the Democratic Party use news such as this as a way to defeat the argument for tax cuts? Then again, why does polling show that raising the debt ceiling isn’t popular, but Americans still want the government to do something about job creation and the economy? Assuming that we are still all about people-power politics and not president-powered, we have a lot of work to do persuading people that the Supply-Side Era is over and that means change, no matter which party holds power. It is just a matter if you want your change with Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid or without them?

  72. I just got an interesting call from the Human Rights Campaign. They were asking for donations and as always, I asked for something to be mailed to us as we simply do not and will make donations by phone. But anyway, they were praising the President on passing DADT repeal. They were talking about Repubs in the House and the Repub Presidential candidates want to roll back DADT repeal. I told them that is a serious concern of mine as that is a key piece of civil rights legislation signed into law by the POTUS. She agreed wholeheartedly. It was such a pleasant conversation. I thought I would share this with you as there is so much Obama bashing from the PL and small factions of people , this was a nice call to get.

  73. Cue Aravosis and Choi saying that the HRC are sellouts.

Also, I agree with you about not giving money over the phone. I get so many calls from charities that that’s become my line, which happens to be true. It’s a bit more polite than just an outright “no”.

  74. Never thought of that. Hope those investors know a good economic policy when they see one and find ways to ‘ahem’ support those policies.

  75. You won’t like this news, LL. Almost 100% sure what I heard today was that the European Central bank is sitting on billions in Greek bonds. (I just hope they weren’t talking about Ireland’s central bank.) As Greece goes, so goes the European Union.

  76. From my twitter timeline:

RT @ChicoDelainky: Michele Bachmann: The best argument against home schooling anyone can come up with… #TeamFollowBack #news #Obama

  77. The situation with Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Ireland reminds me quite strongly of the sub-prime crisis, except that this time the sub-prime customers were governments, not individual homeowners.

Capitalism has to be reformed root and branch. What we have now is not capitalism, but sheer speculation. (And China is going through a property bubble just as the US did. Heaven help us if they go down as well.)

  78. They can’t win on their merits so they lie, cheat, threaten, and lie some more.

I wonder how they sleep and what monster vision await them in their mirrors?

  79. Thanks jenny. The best post in huole’s blog.

There’s no business quite so profitable as being an arms dealer who also has influence on keeping the war going.

Apt description of her and her actions. As immoral as an arms dealer.

  80. A Tunisian court has sentenced former President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali and his wife Leila to 35 years in jail for embezzlement and misusing public funds.

The couple, who fled to Saudi Arabia in January after a popular uprising, were also fined $66m (£41m).

The one-day trial in absentia focused on $27m of cash and jewels reportedly found inside one of their palaces.

A second case concerning Ben Ali only, which relates to the possession of drugs and weapons, was postponed.

Ben Ali’s lawyer said the verdict was politically motivated and “a joke”.

The BBC’s Jon Leyne in Tunis says it is unlikely that Saudi Arabia will allow the couple to be extradited.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/mobile/world-africa-13850227

  81. They are GOP operatives. They are paid to cause dissent, confusion, and mistrust amongst our ranks. I can’t believe folks are falling for this. I posted a week or so ago on the OFA site that the Koch Bros, Dick Army, and Karl Rove are fast at work with their millionaire henchmen paying trolls to infiltrate are ranks.

They are attacking all Progressive and Lib sites. Don’t fall for the TRAP folks. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!! Obama/Biden 2012!!!

  82. You couldn’t pay me to watch that snake, but I did read somewhere that in a dry run of his first show he threatened the President, saying the President would pay for suggesting Wiener resign.

  83. Hi df,

    You’re very welcome…

Maybe BWD hasn’t had a chance to “give it the once over,” yet. lol

Matter of fact, she follows this particular blogger, @KnowYourObama, on Twitter.

So hold on, don’t give up hope that this site will be added to the TOAITR’s Blogroll! ;)

TODAY WITH PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: DAILY HAPPENINGS AND SPEECHES FROM OBAMA AND HIS ADMINISTRATION… http://ochairball.blogspot.com/

  84. Aravosis bashed the HRC campaign for endorsing Obama.

And the bloggers who are still negative regarding LGBT are a small fringe and refuse to accept facts.

  85. In California I would like to see them drop ALOT more. I think in the last 4 weeks they have probably dropped about $.40 but still way too high.

  86. Besides the followin’, this *IS* just another reason come Nov 2012 to VOTE ‘EM OUT…

The TeaPublicans, especially the freshmen and women, and their ilk *ARE* nuts.

They don’t know how the government, at the local/state/federal-level, works!

They know nothin’ about the Constitution…Nothin’, Nada thing!

Speakin’ of the Constitution, the SCOTUS 4 (Thomas, Scalia, Alito, Roberts), who *ARE* suppose to know about it, have just “trampled all over” it…

    They’ve overturned decades/centuries-old rulings!

They have used it to “load up” their pockets and their corporate friends’ pockets with middle class/workin’ class’ life earnings and savings!

They don’t care about WE, The People. To them, it’s WE, The Corporations…Grrr!

Today, I didn’t get a chance to contact U.S. Senator Leahy’s office. But, I will do so, tomorrow!

And, WE need to make sure this “GOES VIRAL,” on a continuous loop,….Tweet/RT it, FB it, Email it, et al!

    I’M IN…FIRED UP & GOIN’! ;)

  87. What was funny is I recently watched Mathews and the idiot was trying to say that the democrats have a woman problem! LOL

He said how Michelle Bachman was going to win nomination to run against Obama and that the dems now are in real trouble because some how the moron believes that women are just going to flock to this bozo because she happens to be a woman! I had to turn it off in complete disbelief and couldn’t help but remember how Mathews himself was criticizing Hillary almost nonstop in 2008.

Just had to share this as I’m more than a little angry but at the same time more than a little amused.

  88. Jeff…you saw that too?! I think the man gets “tingles up his leg” when he talks about Bachmann. He just can’t help himself, no matter HOW moronic the woman is. Frankly, I thought DWS did a good job of trying to talk some sanity to Matthews regarding the woman issue. As a woman, for the same reason I hated the fact that Republicans fawned all over SP, as unqualified as she was, because she was a woman…was not good enough reason to vote for her. I find that entire line of thought offensive, quite frankly. To think that women all over America would vote for another woman JUST BECAUSE she’s a woman…no matter if she’s qualified or intelligent etc. is really, really a stupid, lame train of thought on his part. He doesn’t seem to think very much of the rest of us. ANY woman won’t do.That certainly includes Bachmann. I was NOT amused.

  89. Amazing! The site owned by the real former CONSERVATIVE Republican (who for all I know may still be a Republican) is now claiming that President Obama is a Republican? If that is the case, why are Republicans so united in viciously attacking him , and saying NO to everything he proposes? Do these people who post on HuffPost think we are idiots? Obviously the goal here is to divide and conquer, and suppress Democratic voters by discouraging them from voting for the President. Only imbeciles can fail to notice the real agenda of these con artists!

  90. Thanks, MS4 Tulips, for setting the record straight! I am just so sick and tired of people who manipulate every thing the President says to justify their vitriol against him. I watched the same interview, and at not time did the President call on Weiner to resign. All he said was exactly what you said: (1) It was up to Congressman Weiner to decide for what is best for his family ( though if it were him (Obama) he would resign to spare his family); and, (2) It was up to Weiner’s constituency to decide if his transgressions made it difficult for him to effectively serve their needs in Congress.

At no time did the President explicitly tell Weiner to resign! To say otherwise is a blatant lie. By the way, I doubt that it would have mattered much what the President said to Congressman, Anthony Wiener. After all, wasn’t Weiner already on record opposing the President for not having real progressive Democratic values! Why then would Anthony Weiner accede to a call to resign, from a president he despised for not having real progressive values? This new PL attack on the President does not pass the smell test. It’s another manufactured lie to cover up the despicable, and stupid, actions of another loud mouth progressive hero with nor demonstrable record of concrete progressive achievements, during his ten years in Congress.

  91. I bet you didn’t realize that Mathews being the hypocrite that he is was one of the very ones attacking Hillary Clinton! Attacking how she wore her makeup, etc. He appologized later but showed a sort of disdain towards her that I even though being an Obama supporter felt was very unfair. Another thing that struck me is that Mathews thinks that women are completely and utterly stupid and blind when it comes to the what the republicans have been doing, banning abortion, destroying unions, etc.

Its almost as if Mathews hasn’t even met a woman or maybe spends too much time talking to republican women to realize that the majority of women don’t think like that.

  92. This video needs to be passed on to people today.
    Jon Huntsman LOVES Sarah Palin:

  93. I heard that too and thought he was off his meds .Additionally he kept saying Obama should consult the Clintons and do what Bill Clinton would do not recognising that the situation is entirely different,Obama is African-American (bi-racial) a completely different politican, has a different voting block (more young people and new voters) and unprecedented obstruction. The times and challenges are also not comparable.
Chris Mathews made me sick with his nonsense. He also had on Mark Halpernin and Jonathan Martin of Politico.
I will give him a miss for a good while.

  94. I’ve decided to give Mathews a pass as well. I just have no interest at all listening to MSNBC but will occasionally listen to Maddow. Its gotten worse in its criticism towards Obama to the point that I think if things don’t improve I’ll boycott the entire station.
